Yes. I believe the Climate Change Response Bill is an important piece of legislation and needs to be passed by the next government, but with some amendments. I think the targets set out in the Bill of 2020, 2030 and 2050 need to be changed to targets of five year periods, reflecting the electoral cycle and making sure the government commits to targets of lowering emissions within its own lifetime and is accountable for seeing those targets through. I also think the National Climate Change Expert Advisory Body should be fully independent, and should publish their reports publicly in the interest of transparency.
